Description

Slightly east of the Mukilteo ferry, the Mukilteo T-Dock offers easy access to the water and plenty to see. Upon entering in the water, the bottom first gets deeper gradually, then it becomes more steep, and finally levels off a bit. This site has a decent amount of parking, but it is a popular place for people getting their certifications. As a result, the parking can fill up fast on the weekends.

Straight out from the beach entrance, some debris serve as an small artificial reef. Rockfish like to hang around this area. On the sandy rocky bottom, there are many variety of flatfish. However, around the dock piling, there is probably the largest numbers of fish. Shiner perch and pile perch seem to congregate around the piling. At this site, there are also multiple varieties of crabs (dungeness, red rock crab, kelp crab, and hermit crabs), sea stars, and if you're lucky you might see an octopus.
