Directions

From I-5 turn off on highway 525 N Exit 182. Continue on 525 N till you see Front Street (right before you go on to the ferry). Take a right on front street and go one block. On the left is the public beach and on the right (Park Avenue) is parking. After walking down on the public beach you will see the oil dock a way down to the east (right). You can walk down the beach or swim.

Description

Upon arriving at the public beach you will see the Mukilteo T-Dock you will want to go past that down to the much larger dock (the oil dock) further down the beach. Once you get to oil dock by swimming or walking. You can follow the dock out into deeper water and look at the animals living among the piers.

The bottom is largely a fine sand filled with broken shells. While heading out you see quite a bit of fauna similar to Edmond's Oil Dock, except there are more crab. You will see dungeness crab, red rock crab, flounder, ochre star, pink short spined star, sunflower star, anemone, and spotted ratfish. The ratfish start to appear as you get a ways out, around 40 feet.

Make sure you dive at slack tide as the current can ruin your dive.
