Badger Lake Boat Launch
Directions
From Cheney, go south on Cheney Plaza Road to Williams Lake Road. then take a right on Wiliams Lake Road. Next, take another right onto Badger Lake. Continue for about 1.5 miles till you reach a public fishing sign. You'll want to go down to the public fishing parking (you will need a permit).
Description
The first thing you will need to get before diving at Badger Lake is a Vehicle Use Permit Decal. You will need one to park in the public fishing parking. During the summer this site can be a popular fishing area, so watch out for boats.
This lake is not as clean as Lake Coeur D'Alene, but you will find different fauna here. You are most likely to see sunfish and snails. The snails are what make this site cool. There are lots of them making little trails all over the bottom.
You will probably want to enter the water near the boat launch (there is no grass there). From there you can continue straight out till you reach a wall drop off. You can follow the wall to the left. It continues parallel to the shore for a long way. If you go passed the wall and drop down to the bottom, you will find a large flat mud bottom with lots of snails making trails all over the bottom.
