Directions

From Spokane, drive north on Division. When you reach the Y take a right on Highway 2 / Newport Highway. After traveling 32 miles on highway 2, you will find public fishing signs leading you to the site.

Description

The first thing you will need to get before diving at Diamond Lake is a Vehicle Use Permit Decal. You will need one to park in the public fishing parking.

Diving in the lake you are likely to see trout swimming in the middle of the water column. There are also many logs with fishing gear tangled on them. The maximum depth of the lake is 50 feet; however, divers are likely to be in about 30 to 45 feet of water.

Fish species that are present in the lake include rainbow trout, brown trout, brown bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, green sunfish, pumpkinseed, largemouth bass, yellow perch.

Hazards

Diamond lake is a popular fishing lake, and you will want to bring a diving flag and watch for boats.
