Directions

Description
The waters of Lake Cresent are deep and clear. The lake has an average depth of over 300 feet and a max depth of over 600 feet. At this site, it is shallow near the shore, but then the muddy bottom slopes downward at a semi-steep angle down into the abyss.
There is not a lot of fauna to see, but you can see trout, freshwater mussels, and crawdads. The trout can be found at moderate depths or midwater. The mussels can usually be found sticking slightly out of the muddy bottom. During the day, the crawdads are likely hiding. They dig little caves in the mud where there they can sometimes be found peeking out.
Hazards
There can be some boat traffic at this location. Also, because of the good visibility, it is easy to accidentally find oneself deeper than planned. So, bring your dive flag, and watch your depth.
